Potty your dog
Please potty your dog prior to your service. Accidents in kennel or while drying may result in a re-bathing fee per groomer.
Confirmation
A generated text reminder goes out immediately after your appointment is made through SQUARE. You will also receive a notification from SQUARE… 5-days before your scheduled appointment. Then one more reminder will go out 24 hours before your appointment. If not confirmed the groomer will cancel the appointment at the 23 hour mark. In order to fill with another client. Please respond to these, so we know you are confirmed. Canceling your appointment less than 24 hours before will result in an additional 50% of your groom price. Whether the contract has been signed or not. If you are in an emergency situation and simply can’t come to the scheduled appointment, you need to let us know ASAP. To avoid additional charges. NO SHOWS: Not showing up to a scheduled appointment will result in paying full price of the service. No show 3x in a calendar year will result in advance paying for your service.
Showing up 10 minutes or later will result in us needing to reschedule your dog. If the groomer can still get you in there will be an additional charge based on size of dog. Being late simply put doesn’t allow us to spend the quality time needed that we have put aside for your fur baby. Possible rushes us for the next scheduled appointment. We don’t like to feel rushed. We book accordingly. We appreciate you understanding this. 🙂
Appointment Only
Poochie Do’s is by appointment only. We do this for many reasons. Mainly so that your dog does not sit endlessly in a kennel waiting for his or her turn. At other salons a walk-in takes precedence over someone’s appointment. Not here. Your appointment is your appointment. This also, applies for nail trims, and face trims. So please call ahead to schedule your appointment. We appreciate it. 🙂 Thank you.
Vaccinations
We require all dogs to be up to date with rabies vaccination. We require this in the paper form. You can email this to poochiedos@gmail.com or text it to 509.797.3455. We cannot accept the tag the dog is wearing. As this does not give us the expiration date. If it has been forgotten, please contact your veterinary and they can give us the ok over the phone. If your pet is too young for the rabies vaccination, is a puppy and has had 3 parvo distemper shots we can trim the nails and give your dog a bath. We do this to get your puppy use to the groomer. (This package is called our Puppy Primping Package no haircut with this package, just a light trim on face, feet and fanny). A haircut will be given after the Rabies shot.
Fleas
Poochie Do’s does not accept dogs infested with fleas. If your dog has fleas please treat and rid them completely prior to scheduling with us. The cost involved with ridding them from our shop and our team is astronomical can be devastating to everyone involved. If checked in and your dog is matted to the skin and the groomer cannot find fleas, but does so after the grooming as started, we will take a picture of this so you can see. We will continue with the grooming to aid your dog. There will be an additional $150 added to the price. We will then need to shut down the entire facility and rid them from our shop. This is a very costly measure, but a measure we will take to make our shop flea free. Our utmost care is each pet that we care for.
Skunk-Sprayed Dogs
If your dog as been sprayed by “OUR” friend SKUNK, please let us know this when you schedule so we are not surprised when we smell you coming. If this is the case we will schedule you at the end of our day so other clients/dogs aren’t affected by the strong odor. Skunk spray contains sulfur-based organic compounds called thiols which is overpowering to both humans and dogs. This includes any selfwash customers as well. A quick recipe for at home is: Mix 1 qt to 3% hydrogen peroxide, ¼ cup baking soda and 1 tsp liquid dish soap.
Kenneling/Pickup
We have a limited number of kennels and we cannot provide daycare. You will be called or texted when your dog is completed. We ask that you come and pick up promptly within a maximum of one hour. If this exceeds one hour you will be charged an additional $15 per 1/2hr. We understand that situations come up, so please be honest with us and we will do what we can to accommodate within reason. If your pet soils themselves after they have been groomed a rebathing fee will be added to the total service.
Matted Dogs
If your pet is matted you are authorizing Poochie Do’s to remove all the mats. Sometimes this can cause nicks or cuts. We take this very seriously and do our utmost for this not to happen. If this does happen, you will not hold Poochie Do’s accountable for any cost because of your matted pet. You will be notified if your pet requires medical attention.
Behavior
We don’t take aggressive dogs. If we find your pet just not liking the service being provided and trying to bite us. We will muzzle if necessary. We may also use hammocks, e-collars, groomers helper or another groomer to help. If any of the above is required to finish the service a temperament charge will be added to the service.
Payment
Poochie Do’s accepts all forms of Credit cards, Debit cards including Apple pay, Samsung pay no out of town check. We do not have the capability to run credit cards without the actual card. We don’t accept payments over the phone.
